
Child and Family Counselling

Child and Family Counselling helps children, youth and their families address emotional, behavioural and relational challenges. It supports healthy communication, conflict resolution and emotional development within the family relationship.
Services provided include:
o Initial Assessment and ongoing Progress Reporting
o Individual therapy sessions using a variety of therapeutic play techniques to support the child in resolving psychosocial difficulties, increasing capacity and confidence, achieving optimal growth and development
o Regular Joint Sessions with caregiver(s) and child and frequent Parent Coaching

Children and youth to 18 years
FUNDING
Child and Family Counselling is a fee for service program eligible for reimbursement with many employee benefit programs.

The Child and Family Counselling Program is designed for children and youth (typically age 4 - 18) and their families who are dealing with issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, behavioural challenges, divorce/separation, blending families or communication breakdowns.

We offer:
Individual counselling for children and youth
Parent/Child counselling sessions
Parent coaching and support
Group Therapy (where available)
In-person and virtual sessions are available

Counselling is provided by Registered Social Workers, Certified Play Therapists, Registered Psychotherapists who specialize in working with children, adolescents and families.

Typically sessions include the child or youth and the counsellor. Family members may be included as needed, depending on the age of the child and the nature of the concerns.
