Infant and Child Development Program

The Infant and Child Development Program supports families with children from birth to school entry who are at risk for, or experiencing a delay in any area of development. The Infant and Child Development Specialist visits a child in their family home, regularly, to provide the following services:

o   Developmental Screening and Assessment to measure a child’s area of strength and needs

o   Individual Family Service Plan establishing child and family goals with ongoing strategies built into the family daily routine

o   School Readiness Assessment

o   Transition to school support

o   Consultation with other service providers

ELIGIBILITY

  • Children from birth to kindergarten entry who would benefit from support in any area of development

FUNDING

  • The Infant and Child Development Program is funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services at no cost to families.
