Preschool Speech and Language Program
The Speech and Language Pathologist assesses a child’s speech and language skills with input from parents. This Assessment may be in person or virtual. The Communicative Disorders Assistant provides therapy sessions in person with full participation from parents/caregivers focusing on modelling and coaching strategies for practice at home. Working closely with the Infant and Child Development Specialist and others involved in a child’s care ensures ongoing skill development and success in kindergarten.
ELIGIBILITY
Children from birth to Grade One who are experiencing communication difficulties
(entry to the program is before junior kindergarten)
FUNDING
The Preschool Speech and Language Program is funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services in partnership with Five Counties Children’s Centre at no cost to families.
